WSET Level 2 in Sprits
Distilled knowledge
For individuals wishing to develop their expertise in spirits and liqueurs, you’ll learn about the fundamental production methods and principal raw materials discovering how they are used to make the key spirit styles. You’ll also explore the key practices and principles of serving spirits and the use of spirits in cocktails. Upon successful completion you will receive a WSET certificate and lapel pin, and will be able to use the associated WSET certified logo.

WSET Level 1 Award in Spirits
The Wine & Spirit Education Trust is the world’s leading provider of courses in the area of wines and spirits. Their course programmes are specially designed for anyone who would like to extend or broaden their knowledge of wines and spirits, from beginners to professionals.
WSET courses are available in 19 languages and are provided by a network of more than 600 course providers in over 60 countries.
WSET Level 2 in Spirits is the second step on a 5 level knowledge ladder.

How it's done
Learn about spirits through a 5-week online 6 module study program (specification below) that is flexible to work around your existing commitments. The Level 2 Award in Spirits online covers the same syllabus as the classroom course, but through a supported and interactive Online Classroom which allows you to study alongside your peers under the guidance and feedback from a dedicated educator.

Module 1
- Introducing Spirits
- Learn to taste and describe spirits using the WSET Systematic Approach to Tasting®
- Discover how spirits are made and the influence of production methods on the style of spirit produced.

Module 2
- Fruit and Sugar Cane Spirits
- Learn about the raw materials and production processes used to produce the principal types of fruit and sugar cane spirits.
- Learn about the key characteristics and labelling terms used for these styles of spirits.

Module 3
- Whisk(e)y, Tequila and Mezcal
- Learn about the raw materials and production processes used to produce the principal types of whiskies, tequila and mezcal.
- Learn about the key characteristics and labelling terms used for these styles of spirits.

Module 4
- Vodka; Flavoured Spirits; Liqueurs and Aromatised Wines
- Learn about the raw materials and production processes used to produce the principal types of vodka, flavoured spirits, liqueurs and aromatised wines.
- Learn about the key labelling terms used for these styles of spirits.

Module 5
- Bar Essentials and Cocktails
- Learn about the common equipment and glassware used in the service of spirits and cocktails.
- Learn about the key ingredients and the factors to be considered when making a balanced cocktail.
- Learn about the key cocktail families and know notable examples from each.

Module 6
- Revision & Feedback Questionnaire
- There is a mock multiple choice test to complete.

Examination
- Examination date provided when the student books the course.
- 60 minute exam consists of 50 multiple choice questions
- Takes place after advertised finish date of the course at venues in Malmö and Stockholm
